A New Obsession...

I have always been a fan of preppy attire but Blair Waldorf takes it to a new level. Her pep school attire and adorable headbands match her Upper East Side attitude.

I read all the Gossip Girl books when I was younger and I loooooved them! Blair was always my favorite character and now that I have started watching the show, she still is. Ugh, what I would give to raid her closet!

You know you love me.

Update

Hey Everyone!

Sorry I haven't written an update in awhile! I started my fall semester of school a couple weeks ago and its going great so far!

I'm taking 5 classes this quarter since I only took 3 last quarter. I'm taking Fundamentals of Sketching which is really easy for me so far.

Here is what we have been working on so far:

These are flats that we had to do for homework!

I'm also taking Critical Thinking, Math, American Political and Economic History, and Effective Speaking. I like the context of my Critical thinking class but I don't like the teacher. She is so spacey and mousey... I can't handle it. My Math class is great, my teacher is AMAZING! I'm so glad that Hildur recommended her to me. Her class is very structured and you always know exactly what is going on. American Political and Economic History is really interesting... the class makes me feel dumb though. I've never really had an actual "History" class (at least not since elementary school) and my teacher always asks us questions at the beginning of class kind of as Trivia. He'll ask us a question from Pop Culture (like where do the Simpsons live? Springfield) and then ask us a question from history (who was our first president? George Washington). So many of the questions I didn't know the answer to. I feel like I'm learning a ton though... Like that Hitler was an artist before he was ever Chancellor of Germany. Here is (supposedly) one of his paintings:

I actually really enjoy this class... though it can get a little long (my teacher just lectures for 3 hours...)

My Effective Speaking class was the class that I was most worried about. I HATE public speaking. This week we had to do a personal speech so I told my "SIX" story (if you've heard it, you know what I'm talking about) and it went off without a hitch! Everyone said I was very animated and had perfect pace and timing! So I'm a lot less nervous now...

I've been thinking a lot about Christmas lately... yes, I realize that it is only October but I LOVE Christmas! I love the decorations and the food. :) Unfortunately, I won't be able to come home because Noah has to work... So we will be having our very first Christmas alone. But I think we might get a little Charlie Brown Christmas tree and make a feast and watch Elf!

I'm already working on a Christmas list!! :)

What is on your Christmas List??

Domestic Goddess.

I recently found a new (to me) blog that I am absolutely in LOVE with. The author, Emily, is sort of my new idol. The blog is technically a fashion blog however she does a lot of "do-it-youself" projects that are so freaking cute and completely the style that I am going for in my new apartment. She also does a TON of recipes that look like they are straight out of a magazine. Her photography is also very beautiful. Here are a few pics from her blog:

Here are a few pictures of things she has cooked/baked:

{Chicken Pot Pie}

Emily is the type of person who really inspires me. I'm well aware that idols are for 15 year old girls who read Judy Blume (My favorite book is a Judy Blume book- suck it.) but I absolutely adore her! :)

Nail Polish Collection

Yesterday was a VERY productive day for me and Noah. We started the day off by going grocery shopping. After that we decided that our apartment always stinks so we went to big lots and bought a bunch of cleaning supplies and stuff to make the apartment smell nice, we then came home and deep cleaned the apartment (it smells delightful now). I decided since I was on such a roll that I would organize my nail polish collection.

Now if you don't already know this about me, I have a nail polish obsession. This is a fairly new thing, going on about a year now. I used to wear fake nails but when they got too expensive (about $45 every 2 weeks) I decided to part ways with them. I have really nice nails naturally anyways, they grow fast and are REALLY strong. I already had a little bit of a nail collection going on because I used to LOOOOVE painting my nails when I was younger.

I normally paint my nails about twice a week (at least). Its very relaxing to me, don't ask me why.

So while I was organizing my collection I decided I would shoot a few picture to share!!

Before I organized them:

I counted yesterday and I have about 70 nail polishes...
I buy a new one about once a week, sort of as a treat to myself. :)
